Be the Artist of Your Life

Today, I decided to come to the office because I have to sign some checks and clear my mail. Chores. These are the things that break up your day into infinitesimal fragments that makes the big picture totally void of any meaning or direction.

Think about your average day.

I can imagine it being like an artist who tries to create a mosaic mural but can only work with one fragment of tile at a time. And in time, the mural that’s made will resemble an accident more than divine design.

Think about your last ten years.

I have some proposals for the life-artist in you so that he can create something of value in good time.

  1. Determine a theme
  2. Ignore tiles that don’t fit the theme
  3. Spend lots of time on tiles that complements the theme
  4. Be patient

Determine a Theme

What is the theme of your life? Now, don’t make too much of it. In my own explorations, I’ve considered everything ranging from my one life purpose to getting the next $5,000 to invest in a stock.

The thing is not to make a big deal about what your theme should be. That takes you to a very journey with no light at the end of the tunnel.

The important thing is to have a theme.

Ignore Tiles That Don’t Fit

You know the type – headless chickens running frantically around the barn doing whatever comes. These are the friends who don’t have time for a drink in the evening. These are the people who have to answer every call and deal with every incident that touches them.

If your life mural is the sum total of all the tile fragments that’s thrown in your direction, I can tell you the whole will be less than the sum of its parts.

Learn to let go.

You don’t have to deal with everything that comes your way.

Learn to be selfish.

Put more weight on the quality of your state of being instead of pushing your nose into everybody else’s business.

Play with Tiles that Fit

If you read history, you’d understand that big things come about from a handful of small events, called turning points. Conversely, the tile fragment that’s dealt to you right this moment could be a turning point in your life.

How would you know?

I’d suggest that whenever you come across one that matches your theme, go into a quiet room and spend as much time as you can and contemplate about it.

Learn to meditate. And through the quiet of your mind, allow a solution to present itself to you.

Learn to focus pure positive thoughts on the tile. And through Law of Attraction, allow your life themes to manifest.

Be Patient

I’ve spent more than three decades living a life of dealing with tiles as they come. It’s a habit of 1/3 of a lifetime that I have to unlearn and replace with something that works.

Be patient.

Stick with this long enough and you’d be amazed with the results that you can create.

I believe more and more that today is about choosing the next best step on your path in that theme. Often we ‘mourn’ or stress about options we might have to let go of in order to pursue other opportunities. My belief is that if those options or dreams are really part of the path or theme, they will return or stay with you until the time is right.
